Our strategy is simple, but definitely not easy. We seek to purchase, at a rational price, a part interest in an easily understood business whose earnings are virtually certain to be materially higher, five, ten, twenty years from now. These companies tend to look after shareholder interests and pay a growing dividend. We value simplicity and predictability. When we see one that qualifies, we try to buy a meaningful amount of stock, whilst ensuring we are sufficiently diversified. However, we also love optionality and would look for it as a bonus in the business model.
Besides public markets, we also own direct investments in operating companies as well as real estate holdings. Our current focus for this segment is in the Asia Pacific region.
